Managers

On our 4th week, Our prof suddenly gave us a quiz... but at the end he said he won't record it...hehe...
Then he tolds us things about enterprises:
-Organizational Structure of an Enterprise, the managers including the CEOs are the ones who make the strategic decisions and long term planning; the COO manages the core activities; the supporting activities include financial and IT departments and the CFO, CIO lead these supporting roles.
-Level of Users, in an enterprise there are four kinds of management, first is the Executive Management which makes the strategic decisions; the Middle Management which makes the tactical decisions; Operational Management which makes the operational decisions; then the Nonmanagement Management which makes the on-the-job decisions. Managers perform four activities: Planning,(establishing goals and objectives) Organizing(money,manpower,machine,methods), Leading(power) and Controlling(measuring performance).
-Functional Units within an enterprise: Accounting and Finance(manages the bisuness' money), Human Resources(manages the employees), Engineering or Product Development(developing ideas into products), Manufacturing(converting raw materials into physical products), Marketing(advertising), Sales(selling the company's products), Distribution(delivering products to customers), Customer Service(maintaning relationship with the customers), Information Technology-Information Services department(designing, purchasing, implementing, testing and maintaning information systems ). :)
